Anxiety patients

Afraid of the dentist?
Are you afraid of the dentist, the drill, the noises...?
Are you sweating just thinking about going to the dentist...?
Don't worry, you're not alone! Millions of others feel the same way as you! So you already know: your anxiety is completely normal ...and we know that too! So there is no reason to hide your fears and anxieties or even to be ashamed of them...
There are studies that say that the adrenaline rush in the body during a visit to the dentist is equivalent to that of a parachute jump. Some people are enthusiastic skydivers...but to be honest, nobody would get me out of an airplane!
But where does this fear come from...? And what can you do about it...?
Our practice specializes in presenting you with solutions for this!
Treatment under hypnosis!
Many people are familiar with hypnosis from television programs or shows in which a show hypnotist makes seemingly unwilling people carry out embarrassing commands.
Medical hypnosis or hypnotherapy has absolutely nothing to do with this and follows completely different principles! Medical hypnosis will help you to realize your desire for anxiety-free, relaxed and painless dental treatment.
However, this is only possible on the basis of cooperation, never against the patient's will! You are in control of the situation at all times, are aware of everything around you and can at any time interrupt yourself! But why should you do this if you feel comfortable?
All patients can benefit from hypnosis at the dentist because it makes the treatment feel faster and more pleasant. Like the car in the garage, the teeth are simply handed in for repair and in the meantime you go on vacation or are in a pleasant place.

Who hasn't driven on the highway and suddenly wondered how they covered the last few kilometers? Who hasn't read a good book and then had to turn back to it because they couldn't remember the contents of the last few pages? Who hasn't forgotten space and time after watching a good movie in the cinema? All of these are the same trance states that are sought in hypnosis.
One of the aims of dental hypnosis is to make you feel well rested and relaxed after a long treatment. For patients who rarely go to the dentist due to extreme anxiety, hypnosis enables a massive reduction or even disappearance of anxiety and thus a relaxed and thorough dental restoration. Hypnosis can also help people who grind and clench their teeth or have temporomandibular joint problems, as well as patients with chronic pain in the head area or nausea.

Treatment under general anesthesia
For many patients with extreme anxiety, anesthesia is a blessing. They fall asleep relaxed and we are able to provide optimal dental and technical treatment.
After the treatment, you will slowly wake up from the anesthetic. Painkillers, which you received during the anesthetic, will largely prevent pain and swelling. Dental treatment is usually completed after one or two anesthetic appointments. Fortunately, in almost all cases you will be able to come back for subsequent check-ups without too much effort.
As a rule, one or two anesthetic appointments are necessary. Precise planning and perfect cooperation between the anesthetist, dentist and technician are a prerequisite for these appointments.

The anesthesia is administered in our team by an experienced anesthesiologist in accordance with the latest medical knowledge and the highest safety standards. The duration of the anesthesia can easily be extended to several hours, so that the patient can significantly reduce the number of visits to the dentist, even for lengthy and complex treatments.
The risk of anesthesia in healthy patients is very low nowadays. This is due to the further development of new anesthetics, which guarantee better tolerability for the patient, faster elimination from the body and fewer side effects.
However, a residual risk remains...this is also the reason why we only offer anesthesia for selected patients on special request. Also, the costs for this in the dental field are usually not covered by health insurance companies.
A few helpful tips to combat anxiety
Here's some good news: by reading this, you have already taken the first step against your fear!
If you already suffer from a phobia or fear of dental treatment, then you will certainly not know where to start with overcoming the problem. Here are a few tips:
Try to assess your anxiety realistically
The simple thought of going to the dentist can cause you extreme anxiety. This could make it difficult for you to assess your situation objectively.
Accept the fear
Wait and give your fear time, don't run away from it, but talk to us openly about it. Find out about your anxiety... If you have been waiting for years, a few more weeks won't make much difference.
Talk to those affected
There are self-help groups and forums where helpful people can support you in overcoming anxiety. People who have been or are still in your situation will be able to help you better than those who only know about this fear from hearsay. However, we also experience it on a daily basis when dealing with our patients. So we know what you are talking about and take you seriously!
Take the time you need
We will take them with you too! If you've been waiting for years, a few more days won't make much difference. The most important thing for you at the moment is not to get your teeth fixed, but to overcome your fear. However, do not let it come to acute pain or inflammation. In these cases, you must go to the dentist or emergency service immediately for the sake of your health.
Prepare yourself
Get used to the situation. We will first arrange an appointment with you to get to know you. No treatment has to take place here, we will just talk in detail.
Distract yourself
Try not to see only the negative and not to get lost in your fear by speculating, but be proud that you have taken the first step. You can also distract yourself by listening to music or reading...we will also offer you something in this direction.
Consult a psychologist
However, if you still don't have the confidence to go to the dentist, you can consider contacting a psychologist or psychotherapist. They can pave the way for dental treatment and possibly provide support.
