Plastic fillings
Filling plastics, called also Komposite, are dental-coloured sculptural fillingmaterials for the dental-medicaltreatment, but they also serve for theconnection of ceramic restorations, crowns and root pencils.
They exist of a huge number of organicplastic matrix (polymers and monomers) which is moved with inorganic fillingbodies (ceramic particle). Thus a plasticfilling is able up to 200 different, partlytoxic, ingredients contain against whichindividual sensitisations, or allergies canappear.
Among the rest, to the injuriousmaterials in the Komposit count:
- Triethylenglycol-Dimethacrylat (TEGDMA)
- Hydroxyethylmethacrylat (HEMA)
- Urethandimethacrylat (UDMA)
- Bisphenol-Glycidyl-(di)-Methacrylat (Bis-GMA)
These materials which are valid asespecially reactive substances are toxicfor living cells and dispose of a stronglypermeable ability. This means that theycan raise the porosity of the mucousmembranes for poison materials andreach therefore easily in internal organs- particularly in the liver and the kidneyswhere they deposit and fortify in thecourse of the time also in higher tins. Inparticular are to be called here HEMAand TEGDMA.
A specific feature explains BisGMA which Bisphenol A includes. This isbecause of his estrogen-like effect inbaby’s bottles forbidden, nevertheless, in almost every plasticfilling contained just as Phtalate as atenderizer.
Possible effects of plastic fillings are always very individual events. After suitable diagnostics suitable plastics are used in our practise accordingly individually.
