Invisible braces

Invisalign
Many adults want "straight" teeth, but shy away from the usual fixed wire braces ("brackets" ).
However, there is a new method of making such tooth position corrections almost invisible: Invisalign
Following digital planning, a series of transparent plastic splints are produced which gradually move the teeth into the desired position - similar to fixed braces.
Advantages of Invisalign
- The rails are removable and almost invisible!
- The splints can be removed for 2-3 hours a day, e.g. for eating or for important occasions!
- Teeth can be cleaned in the previous way without any problems!
- The duration of treatment is similar to that of fixed braces!
- The computer simulation allows you to see the treatment results in advance!
The Invisalign system is unsuitable for
- Children with incomplete tooth change or tooth eruption
- Insufficient oral hygiene
- For the correction of skeletal dysgnathia (misalignment of the jaw bones)
Treatment procedure
Impressions are taken of both jaws, sent to Align Tech in San Francisco and scanned or digitized three-dimensionally into the computer. On this basis, a computer simulation of the desired tooth movements is created according to our specifications (="ClinCheck"), which we view, check and, if necessary, correct together with you. You can therefore see the result of the treatment even before it begins!
If the simulation corresponds to the desired treatment goal, the splints ("aligners") are manufactured by Align Tech. Each aligner should be worn for about 14 days. You will receive a new aligner in the practice every 2 weeks, and the previous course of treatment will also be checked. The aligners exert forces on the teeth and move them into the position previously specified on the computer.
At the end of the treatment, a so-called retainer (wire bracket or special splint) is used to prevent the teeth from being reset, as is necessary for any orthodontic treatment.
