Local ozone therapy for wound disinfection
Germs in the oral cavity are the main cause of almost all teeth and gum diseases, from tooth decay to periodontal disease. In the field of dental treatments – especially after tooth extraction – microbial pathogens can also lead to post-operative symptoms and generally delay the healing process.
With local ozone treatment, harmful pathogens can be eliminated within a few seconds and medical results can be determined after a few treatments. The ozone therapy device uses active oxygen, which is converted to ozone by the probe head to the site to be treated. The small amount of ozone penetrates up to 6 mm into the tissue where it acts on the germs, thereby decomposing the oxidising ozone cell envelope of microbes and also engages their DNA or RNA. In contrast to antibiotics, resistance is not possible.
